Dr. Heinrich von Spreckelsen, long-time member and from 1982-1994 book keeper of the association, before that treasurer for 7 years, has compiled this collection of terms used in the past, e.g. professions or names of diseases, but also old street and path names or places and more, and initially entered them in a notebook. In 1997, this became a book, the contents of which are now available to all interested parties here. In the accompanying foreword, which is well worth reading, Mr. von Spreckelsen writes, for example, about the title "Lost vocabulary from Bremen's prehistory", that this should not be taken to mean that each of the expressions listed was exclusively native to the Bremen area.
